Frankfurt Motor Show LIVE: Renault Concept Initiale Paris
Following the first images with the model, released just a day ago, Renault has finally pulled the wraps off the Concept Initiale Paris, in a world premiere, at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show.
With a more appealing look than the current Espace, the new Renault Initiale Paris is 4.85 meters long and it can accommodate four people, but there is a big chance that the final production version of the model will get a 5+2 layout. The Renault Concept Initiale Paris can easily stand out from a crowd thanks to its lowered roofline, LED headlights with built-in DRL, new design for the taillights or 22-inch alloy wheels.
The Renault Concept Initiale Paris has almost the same size as the Grand Espace but it is 250 kg lighter. The cabin of the one-off vehicle has received ambient lighting, a Bose sound system with an impressive 32 speakers and two subwoofers, dual screens in the console, wood and aluminum trim and much more. The Renault Concept Initiale Paris is powered by a dCi 130 diesel engine, with 400 Nm of torque (295 lb-ft). The unit is mated to the six-speed EDC double clutch transmission, which is sending power to the wheels. The Initiale Paris is offering a first preview into the next generation of the Espace or even possibly into a completely new model, which will replace the MPV.
